Classing

Auscott operates a modern ICA Bremen Certified cotton classing facility at its Artarmon office in Sydney. During ginning, samples are forwarded daily from each gin to the classing office where the cotton is classed and various fibre characteristics measured using modern high volume instrument testing (HVI) equipment. Measurements include colour, strength, length, uniformity, micronaire and neps.

Auscott is involved in regular local and international HVI check testing programs. These programs include CCAA, USDA, Bremen and CSITC. The classing office is certified under the ICA Bremen and the industry Best Management Practice program and audited by the CSIRO.

In addition to classing the cotton it markets from its ginning operations, Auscott offers a very competitive contract classing service to all growers. Grower Services staff will help facilitate any contract classing.
